Our natural Danish and tung oils are the way to go for almost any project
When your wood is in need of a glow up, our natural range of oils is sure to have a fix. But, if you’re still stuck on the difference between Danish oil and tung oil, or want to know about which oil you’ll need for various projects, then we have broken it down for you below!
The differences between our natural oils
Learn about our tung oil
First off, we’ll bust the myth… Tung Oil doesn’t go in your mouth and it’s not made from tongues! The Tung tree, originating from China, gained its name from its distinctive heart-shaped leaves, as "tung" translates to "heart" in Chinese. The oil is pressed from the seeds of the nuts from the Tung tree and has been a natural oil with many use cases as early as the 14th century! At Natural Paint Co, our Tung Oil is a preferred natural option for nourishing and sealing wood – it is lower in sheen, and more durable than the comparable alternative that is Linseed Oil.
What actually is Danish oil?
Danish Oil is our food-safe, 100% natural, non-toxic and suitable for interior or exterior wood. It’s the epitome of ‘ get you a girl who can do both’! It is mostly made up of our Tung Oil, which can make for confusion when deciding what product is best for your project. We love the scent of the Citrus Peel Oil too, which makes up 20% of our Danish Oil – it smells great, and is made from the wastage of the juicing industry. Win-win.
So which projects might I use these oils for?
